The Rolls-Royce NVC 374 stern trawler
Norwegian shipbuilder and ship designer Vard Holdings Limited has secured contracts for the construction of one stern trawler and one coastal fishing vessel with a combined value of NOK 410 million (USD 50m).
Vard will build the stern trawler for a new and unnamed Canadian client. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 350 million.
The ice-classed vessel is 79 meters long, 16.6 meters wide and is of Rolls-Royce NVC 374 design.
Developed for shrimp trawling in the harsh environments of the North Atlantic, it also features an on board shrimp processing plant.
The delivery is scheduled from Vard Aukra in Norway in 4Q 2016, and the hull of the vessel will be built at Vard Braila in Romania.
The Seacon SC34 coastal fishing vessel
The coastal fishing vessel was ordered by Breivik AS of Norway. The vessel is scheduled for delivery from Vard Braila in Romania in 3Q 2016, securing work for the yard in all stages of production.
The value of the contract is approximately NOK 60 million. The vessel is of the Seacon SC34 design, and is equipped with a factory and freezing plant.
