Yonhap New Agency cited the shipbuilder as saying that it received the order from an undisclosed Oceania shipowner. Further details related to the shipowner and the shipbuilding contract were not revealed. The deal allegedly pushed DSME’s orderbook to USD 6.4 billion, representing 88 percent of the shipbuilder’s 2018 target of USD 7.3 billion in new orders. The latest shipbuilding contract was revealed only days after DSME won a deal to build an LNG carrier for John Angelicoussis’ shipping company Maran Gas Maritime.
