Year: 2020 Version: v.1.1.29.84 Developer: NAVIS Platform: Windows System Requirements: Localization: english Crack: Not needed Description: The MACS3 Training Course for Container Vessels is designed for: - students at maritime academies working on a certificate as a Navigational Watchkeeping Officer or higher - experienced mariners and other persons with responsibilities in cargo operations. The aim of this course is to provide training for using the loading computer system MACS3 for Container Vessels. The following competencies will be gained and evaluated: · Stability and strength · Cargo handling · Cargo stowage · Cargo lashing · Dangerous goods. It is assumed that those who enter this course are familiar with cargo operations on container vessels and have knowledge of stability theory and longitudinal strength calculations for vessels. Participants should also be familiar with standard computer handling and software interfaces. Upon successful completion of the course you will have an overview of the range of functions in the loading computer system MACS3 and be able to handle typical loading conditions and judge them with respect to safety-relevant aspects like stability and stress situation of the vessel, pre-plan ballast operations, produce loading and discharge, reefer and dangerous goods (DG) lists for cargo watch, produce all required reports on stability and strength, produce all required cargo related reports, receive necessary information on dangerous goods in case of emergency, customize the user interface of the system to suit your needs, use the user manual to go in depth for special functions. Additional info: This course requires 16 hours of training time. After familiarization with the course you will immediately install the necessary MACS3 software on your PC to be able to conduct all exercises and the evaluation. After that you will be guided through the basic modules and the general understanding of the user interface. Next, you will learn about how- MACS3 works in practice: your vessel by corresponding and exchanging data with planners and terminals. Chapter 8 “Condition Check” involves comprehensive study about the regulatory stability and stowage checks offered by MACS3 and are required before every voyage. Chapters 9-11 will teach you how to prepare ballast water operations, loading plans and various reports for your crew and charterer. By this time you will have become a professional MACS3 user and will be able to adjust and configure the user interface individually. Chapter 13 will deal with the “Test Conditions” based on your vessels class rules. Finally security aspects, failures and help options are discussed. Instead of a user manual or help files, this course is story-based, meaning it will present you with typical tasks you will have to handle on board. This is done step by step, chapter by chapter. The way you receive information in this course varies between text, images, short explanatory videos, and the fully functional MACS3 container ship training software. Please note: Theoretical basics like stability calculation principles, theory of shear forces and bending moments, and lashing forces will not be covered in this course. There are some test answers included in this upload.
This upload was produced, based on original NAVIS training course. Instead of online application (cost of 350 euro) it was transferred into PDF format pages. All links for videos, tutrial or books are not valid, but appropriate videos, tutrial or books are included into upload. Examples of final test questions are given at separate folder. Note: test answers conserning loading condition are correct for indicated loading condiyion ONLY.
